FocusFriends is a tool that helps you get more work done faster, by using a method called accountability.
If you tell someone you are going to do something, like fold your laundry or make progress on your science project, and you know that you will need to tell that person what you accomplished afterward, you are more likely to actually do it!
How it works
- 1 -
Everyone gathers on a Zoom meeting, and we each say what we’re going to work on during the session. We try to be as specific as possible!
- 2 -
Then we mute ourselves, keep our video on (called "body doubling" which is a specific accountability strategy), and work on our separate projects for 30 minutes. The host will keep a timer. Then, we have a 5-minute break to stretch, relax, and hydrate, followed by another focused section.
- 3 -
At the end, we share what we accomplished or how far we got, and everyone spends a few minutes celebrating their accomplishments (we call it Party Time)!
- 4 -
Afterwards, we have an optional social time, where we talk about our interests, share news, dance and listen to music together, or play games for about 30 minutes.

Join us, and improve your focusing skills today!
Click the Sign Up! button to complete a few "getting to know you" questions.
Then, I'll answer any questions you have about FocusFriends through email.
Then, I'll share the link and you can get on the meeting 15min early to talk over Zoom. You can participate in the session for free to see what it's like!
Me and my co-founder Aila will decide after that if you may join FocusFriends, and, if you are approved, you can use the link I gave you to join the meetups, focus, and make friends!
Don't worry - you don't have to pay for Zoom! It will be using my link. You don't even have to sign in/sign up! However, FocusFriends does cost 20$ per week.
